Accessibility statement
This website is the personal portfolio of Yonatan Nahmias, a musician. We want everyone to be able to use it, including people with disabilities.
What we did
We built the site to meet the requirements of Israeli Standard 5568 (level AA), which is based on WCAG, and to follow WCAG 2.2 level AA where possible. The site has not yet been audited by a licensed accessibility specialist.
- Everything can be used with a keyboard, with a visible focus outline and a link that skips to the main content.
- Pages are built with headings and landmarks, and each page has its language and reading direction set (English left to right, Hebrew right to left).
- Text and controls have enough color contrast against the dark background.
- Photos have text descriptions, and photo credits are shown in captions.
- The site has no auto-playing media, and animations can be stopped from the accessibility menu.
- The layout adapts to small screens and to zoom up to 400 percent.
- Links that open in a new tab say so for screen readers.
- An accessibility menu (the round button at the bottom corner of the page) lets you enlarge text, switch to high contrast, use a plain font, highlight links, add text spacing and stop animations. Your choices are saved in this browser only. The menu is an extra convenience; the site is built to be usable without it.
Known limitations
- Videos and music open on YouTube, Spotify, Bandcamp and Apple Music. These are run by other companies and have their own accessibility. Some videos do not have captions.
- The page loads fonts from Google Fonts.
- We tested with a keyboard, with automated checks (axe) on mobile and desktop sizes, at 400 percent zoom and in high contrast mode, and with a simulated screen reader. The site has not yet been tested by a person using a real screen reader such as NVDA, JAWS or VoiceOver.
